Case Settled Against Commerical Trucking Company on Behalf of Deceased Woman's Family
Lumpkin and Reeves recently settled a tragic case involving the death of a 64-year old woman. The woman was a passenger in a vehicle being operated by her husband. While traveling on Mississippi Route 19 in or near Whynot, Mississippi, a collision occurred resulting in her death. The incident occurred because the 18-wheel truck owned and operated by a commercial trucking company stalled in the road while attempting an illegal U-turn. Suit was filed alleging reckless and gross negligence in violating ordinances in the operation of a common carrier; operating the vehicle in an unsafe manner; failing to perform reasonable to prevent the accident; failing to properly train and supervise employees, and failing to follow defendants= own safety rules and regulations.
